New in Comics this Week: Batman Meets Doc Savage

batman-doc-savageThe Batman Doc Savage Special #1 provides the prologue for a new six issue mini-series.  Straight from the pulps, Doc Savage heads to Gotham City to face off with the Dark Knight who he believes is connected to a recent murder.  Brian Azzarello pens the script on this one and Phil Noto provides the artwork.   And speaking of dark crime-fighters, Ghoul #1 from IDW Publishing brings us a creepy investigator who is know for working on otherworldly cases.  This title was created by Steve Niles with monster-comics legend Bernie Wrightson jumping on board for the artistic chores.  Also out this week is Supergod #1 from Avatar Press.  In this five issue apocalyptic series from Warren Ellis, scientists can create superhumans to save humanity, but things don’t quite work out that way.  Garrie Gastony supplies the art on this title.
