Axiom's Edge Science Fiction and Fantasy

After much anticipation, AMC’s remake of the iconic 1960’s series The Prisoner debuts tonight.  The new version will run as a six-hour mini-series that will air tonight through Tuesday at 8 PM EST.  James Caviezel (The Passion of Christ) will star as Number 6 and Sir Ian McKellen (Lord of the Rings, The X-Men) will star as Number 2 in this remake which looks like it will provide a new spin on the concept while still hearkening back to its source material (Rover is in the house!).  If you are not familiar with the original series, you can get a quick primer with Johnny Jay’s retrospective of the show.  And you can also catch episodes of the original online at AMC.  Also, AMC has a motion picture comic online that will act as a supplement to the mini-series.  The first chapter is currently available with more following in the coming weeks.  And go to AMC’s official website for The Prisoner for more information on the remake and original series.
