Looking for Issue #3 of Jericho Season 3? (Updated)

February 24th, 2010 Comments

Well so are we!  The comic book continuation of the cult fav post-apocalyptic television series has done a great job so far across two issues of carrying on the story that was cut short when CBS cancelled the show two years ago.  And we are definitely chomping at the bit to get our hands on issue #3.  TFAW.com had reported February 17th as the release date, but that date has come and gone with nothing hitting the stands.  They also reported a premature release date for the second issue (saying that it would drop in December when it actually came out in January), so we are guessing the same thing happened this time around.  UPDATE (2/24): Gwen from www.SavingJericho.com received word from Devil’s Due Publishing that the issue would be available March 10th. I received a response from the company as well, though my source said that the release date had not been set, but we should expect it soon.  I’m guessing though that the March 10th date should be pretty close to good, so we will keep an eye on that and chime back in with further updates as that time approaches.

UPDATE (3/10): Issue #3 hits the stands today!  Read Johnny Jay’s review. Also, read the complete synopsis of this issue along with issues 1 and 2 at our Jericho Season 3 page.

I have to apologize for the short interruption in service that Axiom’s Edge experienced last night through this morning.  I was tinkering with some settings behind the scenes (to continue the site improvements) and accidentally fraked up the whole darn site.  And I did it so bad that I had to contact our hosting service (GoDaddy.com) to help fix it!  Everything is resolved now and we are back up and running again.  Also, I have been banned from doing any more tinkering with the mechanics of the site!

Thank you for your patience and we will look forward to seeing you back here on a regular basis.

See Alive in Joburg, the Inspiration for District 9

Before Neill Blomkamp directed the new hit science fiction movie District 9, he did a six minute short film titled Alive in Joburg.  This film follows basically the same premise of aliens arriving in South Africa and facing discrimination and decrepit conditions.  Blomkamp filmed the short in documentary style which shows Johannesburg locals giving their opinions on the aliens which reveal their prejudice toward the newcomers.  In truth, most of the interview clips come from actual footage where people were asked about Zimbabwean refugees, thus placing aliens in the film as stand ins for another disenfrachised group of people.  The film is available for viewing at YouTube at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNReejO7Zu8

SciFi’s Choice

HijiNKS Ensue is a Web Comic by Joel Watson.  Following is his description of the strip:

What is HijiNKS Ensue about?
-Nothing, really. Geeking for the sake of geekery. HijiNKS Ensue doesn’t really follow a story. Most of the comics use one geek pop-culture reference to make fun of another geek pop-culture reference. That sounds stupid when you read it out loud but it ends up working in the end. If you are into SciFi, Technology, Comic Books, Cartoons, 80’s TV, Non 80’s TV or geek-life in general you should find something to laugh at here.

Check out his site for his latest comics along with his musings about whatever pops into his mind at any given point in time.
