The Anti-Blockbusters

Our spotlight on the movies that bucked the Hollywood bloated-budget, mega-blockbuster trend and still managed to deliver a superior viewing experience.  These are movies made on a modest or even non-existent budget that may have done well in the box office or that flew under the radar and perhaps eventually found an audience in the video market.  Some of these you may have heard about and some you may have missed, but we recommend that you give each of them a try to see some good movies that emphasize story, atmosphere, and/or experience over special effects.

The List So Far (In Alphabetical Order):

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

Battle for Terra
