Save My Show
Following is information on campaigns currently in progress to save cancelled or bubble shows. If you have information on campaigns not included here or updates to the existing information, please email us at mail@axiomsedge-scifi.com. Note that we will not get involved with feuds between competing campaigns for the same show. We are willing to post details provided for all campaigns for each show that we receive information about.
Note to those people either currently running a campaign or looking to start one. You can set up an online petition for free at PetitionOnline.com. It is quick and easy and a great way to collect a register of supporters. You can also set up a blog to track campaign activities at places like Blogger.com and Wordpress.com. Wordpress is especially good for this because it allows you to set up static pages that can act as central repositories of information for the campaign. Both Blogger and Wordpress are free and easy to use.
See our Cancellation Watch page for the status of all shows from the 2009-10 Season.
2009-2010 Season:
Legend of the Seeker (Status: In Trouble)
Tribune Company, who syndicates Legend of the Seeker, has announced that they would not pick up the series for a third season. Now while this does not necessarily mean the show is cancelled, it’s definitely not a good sign. Fans had already started to gear up for a campaign to keep the show alive because they had received rumblings previously that it may be in trouble. ABC Studios, who produces the show, could still try to syndicate it with a different company or they could try to shop it to one of the cable networks. In any case, fans of the series have started to show their support and try to convince ABC that it should live on for another season. Following are the suggestions from the Save Our Seeker site for showing support for the show:
1. Write to the General Manager of you local tv station.
TABLE OF US STATIONS AIRING LOTS
TABLE OF INTERNATIONAL STATIONS AIRING LOTS
2. Write to ABC/Disney using this address and this address only!
DO NOT write “Legend of the Seeker” on the envelope because the letter will end up to the writers and not the people in charge of renewing LotS. And preferably don’t address it to a specific person, leave it as it is.
ABC Studios
500 S. Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521
3. Watch LotS, Buy the DVD/Episodes and Share the love with your family/friends/etc.
You can get more information on this campaign at their website: www.fanpop.com/external/10729772
There is also an online petition that has the goal to gather 50,000 signatures in support of the show: www.petitionspot.com/petitions/LOTS3
One more note to fans of the shows mentioned above and any other shows that might be struggling: one way to help a show is to download episodes from iTunes (if available). It only costs around a couple of bucks per episode and that helped keep Dollhouse afloat last season. Click on the link below and search iTunes for your favorite shows.
2008-2009 Season:
The fans of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles have not given up yet. They even paid to have a truck drive through the streets of L.A. advertising their cause. And they may be making headway because there are rumors of a direct-to-DVD movie and possibly a continuation of the series. You can follow the campaign at this site:
